Al Isra (The Night Journey)
Surah 17 · Verse 15
He who receives guidance receives it only for (the benefit of) his ownself and he who goes astray, (the loss of) his going astray is only on him. And no bearer of a burden will bear the burden of another. And We do not punish until We have raised a messenger.
Guidance is for our good and by going astray, we only are at a loss because no other person will bear the burden of our sins. Allah (SWT) first warns through His messengers and then punishes if people are heedless.
