Al-Baqarah (The Cow)
Surah 2 · Verse 254
O you who believe! spend from that which We have provided you, before the coming of the day when there will be no trading therein nor friendship nor recommendation. And the infidels, they are the unjust.
“He it is Who distributes wealth among human beings as He wills consequently He has the right to lay down rules regarding spending it in their life time. If the wealth given by Him is not spent in accordance with His instructions here in this world, then it will be of no use in the hereafter and it could become a source of punishment.”
