Luqman (Luqman)
Surah 31 · Verse 12
And indeed We gave wisdom to Luqman, that: be grateful to Allah, and one who is grateful then he is grateful only for (the benefit of) his own soul, and one who is ungrateful then Allah is certainly Independent, Praised,
Allah (SWT) had given wisdom to Luqman. Being grateful to Allah (SWT) is a sign of wisdom and it is beneficial for one who is grateful. One has to be grateful to parents too for the pains they take in bringing up children. They are not to be obeyed if they preach polytheism, but one has to give them company in a good manner i.e. they are not to be left off. Luqman gave some very valuable advises to his son.
