Al-An'am (The Cattle)
Surah 6 · Verse 38
And there is not an animal in the earth nor a bird that flies on its two wings but they are communities (species) like that of yours, We have not neglected anything in the book, then they will be gathered towards their Fosterer.
There are species of all living beings like the species of human beings. It can therefore be reasoned out that each species might have had common parents like human beings 49:13. The manner of origin of the first pair of each species is not mentioned in the Quran. The first parent or parents of each species might have been created as and when required, multiplied and then made to get extinct when not required. First food was created and then the organisms which feed on them. This seems to be the history of life and if correct, ruleout the necessity of ‘The theory of Evolution’ to explain the observed gradual changes in living beings.
